Admissions details

Application period
[Per the International Exchange Office (intl.jwu.ac.kr) official ‘2027/2028 Foreign Special Admission Basic Plan’ PDF]: recruiting twice a year (spring & fall intake), with no fixed headcount — appropriate numbers set per department. However, this ‘basic plan’ document finalizes only eligibility, academic standards, screening method, and recruiting departments; the specific language requirement and exact application/results/registration dates are marked "* see forthcoming admissions guideline" and remain unpublished. ※ Note: an older International Exchange Office page (intl.jwu.ac.kr, categoryId=D3_394, ‘Foreign Special Admission admissions guideline’) retains a recurring annual schedule — <March intake, new admission·transfer admission> ① application around Jan 10 ② results around Jan 25 ③ tuition payment around Jan 30 ④ permit issuance around Feb 1 / <September intake, new admission·transfer admission> ① application around Jul 10 ② results around Jul 25 ③ tuition payment around Jul 30 ④ permit issuance around Aug 1 — unverified, on an old page no longer linked. studyinkorea.go.kr also lists intake as ‘January, July’.
Admission type
  • ‘Foreign Special Admission’, run by the International Exchange Office (International Exchange Team / International Student Support Team) — freshman applicants must be graduates of a regular high school (domestic or overseas), transfer applicants enter as 2nd/3rd/4th-year students. Eligibility: applicant’s nationality must be ‘a foreign national whose parents are both foreign nationals’ — a pure-foreign-student track, not for overseas Koreans. Screening: 100% document evaluation (Academic Motivation, Character & Values, Major-related Prior Knowledge, and Korean Proficiency, 250 pts each, 1,000 pts total), interview added if needed.
  • 300.
  • 2025 3 ‘College of Global K-Culture’ — K. ·AI new admission.
Language requirements
  • The specific language requirement (TOPIK level, etc.) is not yet published — the basic plan PDF only states "* see forthcoming admissions guideline" (unverified). The document-evaluation rubric includes 250 points (25% of the 1,000-pt total) for Korean proficiency, assessed via TOPIK (PBT) or TOPIK IBT scores. Applicants who fall short may still be admitted conditionally if judged academically qualified, subject to completing a 300-hour Korean-language program after enrollment.
  • Per a separate International Exchange Office page (announcing the new ‘College of Global K-Culture’ from 2025.03), the English track (e.g. Business Administration) delivers at least 50% of courses in English. Regarding a language institute: studyinkorea.go.kr lists a Korean-language program (Levels 1–6, 10-week term) with tuition of KRW 1,000,000 (same for all levels), but a standalone ‘Korean Language Education Center/language institute’ page on Jungwon’s own domain could not be confirmed (unverified).
Competition (reference)
  • 3.6 : 1 for Korean applicants (general track, 2025 disclosure) — the foreign track is screened separately
  • Freshman quota 758
