Admission type
Special Admission for Overseas Koreans & Foreigners (outside-quota special admission, one round of the regular/susi cycle) — selection by document review + interview. Eligibility: ① overseas Koreans and foreigners (2% of quota, for those working abroad and their children, with varying TOEIC/TOEFL requirements) ② overseas Koreans and foreigners, uncapped (completers of the full overseas curriculum, applicants with both parents foreign nationals, North Korean defectors) ③ applicants with both parents foreign nationals applying to the Global Big Data & AI department (foreign-student-only, English Track). The College of Medicine (Premed) and College of Nursing additionally require an official TOEFL(IBT)/TOEIC score.
Language requirements
  • General departments (Korean-medium instruction): meet one of — a) TOPIK Level 3+ b) the university’s own Korean proficiency test, Level 3+ c) TOPIK Level 2 plus 300 hours of the university’s designated Korean-language training within 1 year of admission (reduced to 120 hours if TOPIK Level 3 is obtained in the first semester) d) KIIP (Social Integration Program) Stage 3 or higher, or a pre-assessment score of 61+ e) King Sejong Institute Intermediate 1 course or higher (online King Sejong Institute completion not accepted). College of Medicine (Premed): TOEFL(IBT) 100+ additionally required. College of Nursing: TOEFL(IBT) 80+ or TOEIC 750+ additionally required.
  • Global Big Data & AI (foreign-student-only department, English Track): no Korean-language requirement; instead requires TOEFL iBT 59+ or IELTS 5.5+ or CEFR B2 or NEW TEPS 202+. Note: the university’s CILE (Center for International Language Education, under the Office of International Affairs) runs Korean- and English-language programs for foreign students (eulji.ac.kr/eng, menuno=5303).
